Finally, nutritious tea!
I was horrified when I saw the post about the plastic content of standard tea bags, and ordered these post-haste! As a family, we've been using them for about 1.5 months now, and I am almost perfectly pleased with them. They cinch up tight enough to contain all of the tea, even the varieties that tend to be a bit sandy/dusty. (The bags are quite superior to our stainless steel mesh tea strainer in this respect, which always leaves 'tea sand' residue at the bottom of the cup) They also empty and rinse out well. The only dislike I have about them is that if the string is left outside the cup, the liquid wicks up the string and puddles on the surface the cup is sitting on -- but what else would one expect from a cotton string securely keeping my tea from sandy residue? So, I just plunk the whole bag in the bottom of the cup and enjoy plastic-free tea :)
