It is made of high quality, food grade stainless steel. Easy to clean, the bottom part can be washed in the dishwasher or re-heated on the stove. Please note that the lid has a silicone seal, which is not dishwasher-safe or oven-safe. This container is also freezer-safe.
You can use a non-permanent marker/wax pencil to write on the container. This is handy for specifying contents and storage date. The marker writings wash off easily with water and friction.

These hold a lot than I expected, such that they're too big for their intended use due to their height. Apparently I should have paid more attention to the volume than the diameter. They're still of very good quality and I'll use them for something but I came back and ordered a smaller size for what I need.
These containers are awesome and versatile. They're freezer safe, and can take much more of a beating than their glass counterparts. I like to cook in bulk and freeze lots of a dish at one time. I've taken to using these for soups and stews. When full, one holds about 2 servings, which makes it a great container for two people (you can thaw just enough for dinner tonight). On short camping trips (a night or two), bringing a container or two of frozen soup gets you not just dinner, but also cold packs to keep your cooler cold and your food safely refrigerated until you're ready to eat, which is real handy.
