Why ship water? Most laundry detergents are liquid so they require a disposable plastic jug and are larger and heavier to ship meaning a higher carbon footprint. We are rethinking all of this and heading towards concentrated solids to avoid shipping water.
This dilutable laundry bar is small, lightweight, plastic-free, and as minimalist as we could make it. That being said, a fully diluted bar can make up to 125 loads! It can be used just like usual detergent and we suggest about one tablespoon for a regular load or two for a larger load. To make the liquid, simply dilute the bar in water (portions below) and you can make however much you need.
- Dilute a full bar in 1.9 L / 64 oz of water
- Dilute a half bar in 0.95 L / 32 oz of water
This laundry bar is plastic-free, zerowaste, made from natural ingredients, and is tough on dirt while naturally softening your clothes. The liquid created can be used in high efficiency and front loading washing machines and is also safe for baby clothes.

Care instructions: Dilute the bar in water based on the recipes above and use one tablespoon of liquid for a regular load and or two tablespoons for a large load. Four-year shelf life on the Laundry Bar and once diluted it should be used within a year.

I have an empty laundry jug that I can refill with water, slice the little block of soap in half, wait a few hours, shake it up and I have non-scented laundry soap ready to go. So nice not to have to drag big jugs home from the market and it seems cheaper than sheets.
Slightly less expensive than buying a big jug of detergent, for sure. But that's the least of it. This chemical-free soap cleans and deodorizes really well (without infuses a fake scent into your clothes!). And it barely adds to the waste stream or environmental cost of shipping. It will definitely be a stocking stuffer at Christmas.
