We looked hard to find a plastic-free wooden toothbrush you could just toss in your compost or throw in a campfire once it has served its purpose. The plastic toothbrush market is HUGE and a large majority of the plastic toothbrushes end up in landfills or the oceans. Because toothbrushes need to be replaced three or four times a year, all that plastic really accumulates over a lifetime.
We found the perfect toothbrush. It is made of sustainably harvested wood, in this case beechwood. Its handle is preserved with beeswax. Its bristles are all natural. They are made of pig hair. You might think "yuk, pig hair!", but worry not, the pig hair is completely sterlized before being used to make the brushes. The German manufacturer obtains the pig hair from China, which is currently the only place in the world from where these long-haired pig bristles can be sourced. The bristles come from a domesticated race of long-haired pig that is bred and raised for meat. When the animals are harvested for the meat, the skin and bristles are normally discarded because the meat industry has no use for them. Here the bristles are being used for a positive purpose, rather than simply being thrown out as waste.
This child-sized all-natural wooden toothbrush measures 14 cm (5.5") and it is also available in an adult-sized version.
These toothbruses are offered in packs of 10 only. They are SHIPPED SEPARATELY. PLEASE ALLOW TWO WEEKS FOR SHIPPING.

Although it doesn't have the same aerodynamic, high-tech feel as trendy plastic toothbrushes widely available in pharmacies, it certainly cleans teeth. Just make sure you let the toothbrush dry thoroughly between teeth cleaning sessions. The head of the toothbrush is wrapped in a small piece of bio degradable cellulose plastic held with a metal/cardboard clip that is 100% recyclable. The toothbrush is treated with beeswax for long lasting protection.
