The blossom bag is made of high quality certified organic cotton khadi, with a hemp cord strap. Khadi is a remarkably soft and lush fabric that is hand spun and hand woven in India and dyed with natural dyes. But khadi is much more than just a fabric: it is a potent symbol of freedom. It's production was championed by Mahatma Gandhi in the 1920s as way for India to be less dependent on imported British cotton. Khadi was produced all over India by individual citizens and became an effective tool in the movement Gandhi led to achieve Indian independence from British rule. Learn more about khadi here.
