Our standard shipping method is via Canada Post Expedited in Canada and Fedex Ground in the United States but we can also ship with UPS Ground, United States Postal Service, or other carriers on request. We try to ship as fast as we can, but when we are experiencing high volume or a shortage, shipping might take longer.
Shipping to Canada
Canadian orders currently ship in a batch every Friday. Orders must be submitted by Thursday at 8 am (EST) to be included in the batch for that week.
If your order is placed in Canada, you should pay your order in Canadian dollars to avoid a currency conversion fee being charged by your financial institution. The following shipping and handling charges will be applied to your order:

Shipping to the United States
If your order is to be shipped to the United States, you should pay your order in US dollars to avoid a currency conversion fee being charged by your financial institution. The following shipping and handling charges will be applied to your order:

If you require extra fast delivery or if you would like your shipment to be shipped with a particular shipping company, please contact us by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by phone at 819.459.1459 x. 203. We would then invoice you an additional amount for the extra shipping fees, as agreed with you.
We ship internationally but we must charge actual shipping and handling rates. If your order is shipping to an international destination (outside Canada and the United States), after you place your order, we will contact you by e-mail with a quotation for the extra shipping and handling charges. If you wish to continue with the order, we will send you an electronic invoice by e-mail (you may pay it by credit card or PayPal account) and once it is paid, we will ship your order. If you prefer not to proceed with the order, we will refund your order in full immediately no questions asked.
We have researched many methods of international shipping and the best we have found is United States Priority Mail International in terms of price, speed, and reliability (packages going to major centres receive a tracking number). If the order is a very small package, tracking may not be available. The shipping time is usually 6-10 days for most countries in the world. And the price is usually around 3-4 times our normal shipping rates, depending on the destination, of course. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about international orders.
Customs, Duty and Import Tax
Life Without Plastic cannot be responsible for any customs or duty charges on international shipments. Charges (if any) are determined by customs officials once the shipment has arrived in the country it is being shipped to. This process might also add delay to your delivery. If you have questions or concerns about customs, please contact the customs agency of your country to inquire on regulations and costs.
In keeping with our mission to clean up the planet, we reuse boxes and packing materials that come into our store and use new boxes and mailing envelopes made of recycled material (no plastic if at all possible). We also sometimes use cornstarch peanuts which are reusable and compostable but not recyclable. Although we strive to use material that is 100% recycled, it is not always possible to obtain, in which case we use the highest recycled content available at the time of shipment.
Orders Mailed to the Wrong Address
If your order is returned to us because the address you gave us through Paypal or otherwise is wrong, we will contact you in order to get your new address. We will then request that you pay the full cost of shipping the products back to you. Unfortunately, in trying to keep our prices low for your benefit, we cannot afford paying shipping fees twice. The prices you pay for shipping are often already lower than what it actually costs us. Please ensure that you keep Paypal updated at all times with your new address information. Thank you for understanding.
Because we want you to be happy with each and every purchase, you may return any item you purchased from Life Without Plastic for a full refund of applicable charges within 30 days of the date records indicate you succesfully received your purchase, provided the items are in original new condition with all materials, paperwork, and accessories intact. Items that are used, washed or damaged may not be returned. Please note that gift box charges and shipping charges are not refundable, unless we sent you the wrong item.
Please inspect goods upon delivery. Any defective or missing items should be reported to Life Without Plastic immediately. We always purchase shipping insurance so if you think your order was damaged during shipping, please let us know. All goods held by the customer for more than 30 days cannot be returned. Defective Klean Kanteen products must be reported to Klean Kanteen directly by email: email@example.com or by phone 530-345-3275. Klean Kanteen offers a one year warranty on all of its products.
How to Return an Item
First notify us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org of your intention to return an item. Include name, order number, order details and if you would prefer a refund or store credit. We will then provide you with instructions on how to return your product. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the buyer unless we made a mistake with your order. For your protection you might consider purchasing insurance for the value of the item returned. Keep the tracking number for your records and send it to us by e-mail at email@example.com. We cannot refund lost returns.
We will notify you via email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. We sincerely want you to be happy with the items you purchase at Life Without Plastic each and every time. If you have any problems with your order, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Issuance of Credit:
If you paid your order by Paypal, we will issue a Paypal refund to your account. If you purchased by credit card, your card will be credited for the full applicable amount within 10 business days of receipt of the returned merchandise. If you paid by cheque or money order, you will receive a cheque from Life Without Plastic for the full applicable amount (after currency conversion) of the return by mail approximately 2-4 weeks after the returned product has been received. If you prefer a store credit you will be informed and the store credit will be issued within 10 business days of receipt of the returned merchandise.
