Hemp is naturally resistant to mold, but without fresh air and some ventilation (e.g. bathroom ceiling fan), fungus can grow on hemp just like on any other type of fabric. Keep your bathroom well-ventilated and your hemp shower curtain evenly stretched without folds on the shower rod at all times to prevent moisture build-up and premature degradation. It should not be in contact with wet floors. Inspect your hemp shower curtain regularly for any signs of mold. If you notice any type of build-up, then immediately wash the shower curtain with half a cup of Borax (a naturally-occurring mineral sold in powder form in many stores) and/or oxygen bleach by hand or in the machine on the delicate cycle. Hang in a well-ventilated area to dry. Keep in mind that if you get mold on your hemp shower curtain, you would get it on plastic or organic cotton shower curtains too.
