This beautifully handcrafted 4-piece children's dish set is made of wood coated with a natural lacquer using a traditional Japanese technique. The set includes a bowl, a cup, a fork and a knife. The technique is thousands of years old and involves applying several coats of lacquer made from the resin of the ancient
urushi tree grown in Asia, allowing the resin to dry and sanding it between coats. The resulting coating is food safe, waterproof, and resists acids and high temperatures. It almost smells like honey. The set comes packaged in a beautiful yellow and blue gift box and makes a stunning baby shower gift. BPA free.
